by VWBro. Norm Standing

On behalf of the Coffs Coast Freemason Association and with assistance from a MASONICARE Grant,
VW Bro Norm Standing DGIW District 52 presented the Coffs Harbour Coastal Patrol with
$6000 worth of new Navico Radar equipment.
The presentation took place at the Coffs Harbour Marina on 14th November 2009.

Coastal Patrol Commander, Lindy Powell, said the Coastal Patrol were very grateful to the CCFA who had exceeded
all hope's and expectations when they offered to fund the full purchase price of the radar set up.
She said that it would aid search and rescue operations by giving the ability to cover greater areas in shorter times to locate
those in distress which would make an even greater contribution to the safety of seafarer's in our waters.

The Chairman of the Coffs Coast Freemasons Association (CCFA), VW Bro Norm Standing DGIW of District 52
was recently presented with a cheque for $20,000 by MASONICARE Region 5 Representative
VW Bro Graham Tunstall. The donation of $20,000 will bring the CCFA closer to achieving
their goal to help with the creation of the Coffs Coast and Clarence "CANDO" Cancer Trust.
The CCFA has undertaken to raise the $100,000 needed to set the Trust on a firm financial footing.
The Trust will be available to give financial assistance to those patients and families who fall on
hard times, due to the onset of cancer.

The CCFA will be hosting a Grand Charity Auction Dinner to be held at the Coffs Harbour Racecourse on Saturday 24th October 2009.
Local business houses have been outstandingly generous and have donated an awesome collection of items to be auctioned.
They have already run a very successful Art Union draw for a Holden Colorado 4X4 Ute and Stacer Family Fishing Boat.

The CCFA was formed in 2004 to enable the eight Masonic Lodges of District 52 and 53 to combine their charitable fund raising
in unison for the benefit of the local communities. To date in excess of $90,500
has been raised and passed on to worthy causes.
The year 2009 marks an additional major fundraising campaign by the CCFA. A local ""
is to be formed in Coffs Harbour to offer financial assistance to
Cancer Clinic Patients and their families whose lives have been devastated by the effects of Cancer.
After hearing of the Trust's ideas and fund raising concerns the CCFA is dedicating a major effort over and above
it's normal activities to raise the grand sum of $100,000
thereby ensuring the Trust is in a sound long term financial position to meet future goals.
We started our campaign with a "Big Boys Toys" $5 per ticket Art Union with a
prize of a Holden Colorado 4x4 Diesel Dual cab and fully equipped Stacer Easy Rider Family/Fishing boat including trailer,
a 50hp Mariner outboard, fishing tackle plus full registration worth $81,352.
The winner of the Art Union prize was Andrew Cross Ticket Number 28816
The campaign closes on Saturday 26th June 2010 with a Grand Charity Ball hosted at the Coffs Harbour Racing Club.
